Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray is calling for a united front against the government's handling of the NEET protests, following his visit to Jantar Mantar where he met with students demonstrating against the alleged NEET paper leak.

During his stay in Delhi, Thackeray engaged in a telephonic conversation with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to discuss the ongoing student agitation at Jantar Mantar, Gandhi’s recent detention during an Opposition protest outside PM Narendra Modi’s residence, and the concerns surrounding the NEET exam.

Sources within the Sena (UBT) reveal that Opposition parties are likely to strategize together on both the NEET issue and the protests during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Thackeray emphasized his party's unwavering support for the student protests, stating, "We have been with this movement from the first day. If people are on the streets, the government should engage with them, not suppress them."

Thackeray condemned the government's use of force against protesters, particularly highlighting the mistreatment of women and children during the demonstrations. He expressed concerns over the crackdown on protesters in both Delhi and Mumbai, calling for broader solidarity with the students fighting for their future.

He emphasized the importance of dialogue and understanding in a democracy, urging the government to listen to the grievances of the people. Thackeray drew parallels with past administrations, noting instances where leaders engaged with protesters to address their concerns.
