ABRSM Aounces Protest Against Rajasthan Government's Inaction
The Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), affiliated with the RSS, has launched a campaign against the Rajasthan government's alleged failure to address crucial issues and ensure smooth academic and administrative processes. The organization has criticized what it perceives as a "dictatorial attitude" among senior officials in the Education Department.
Stalled Negotiations Prompt Protest Plans Mahendra Kumar, the state general secretary of ABRSM (School Education), expressed dismay over the lack of progress despite ongoing dialogues with the government. According to him, teachers in the state have been grappling with unresolved issues for more than two years, leading to growing frustration among the teaching community.
Demands for Change ABRSM has been actively advocating for various demands, including amendments in Shivira Panchang, fair transfers for teachers, promotions, financial approvals for school posts, and regularization of contract teachers. Despite repeated discussions, the organization has decided to escalate its efforts through a series of protests.
Protest Schedule Unveiled The organization has aounced a series of protests starting from block level on May 14, district level on May 29, division level on June 5, and a large-scale demonstration in Jaipur division on June 10. This will culminate in a state-level protest from June 18 onwards, with plans to stage a demonstration at the state Assembly during the monsoon session.
Allegations of Mismanagement ABRSM has accused senior officials in the Education Department of prioritizing bureaucratic processes over educational welfare. They have criticized recent decisions, such as reducing summer vacations and arbitrary transfers of teachers, which they claim are detrimental to the overall educational environment in the state.
Challenges in the Education System The organization has raised concerns about the selection process for PM Shri schools and highlighted the lack of promotional opportunities for third-grade teachers. They have also denounced the department's increasing focus on non-academic tasks, diverting attention from students and schools.
