In a surprising turn of events, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has aounced his decision to resign from the Professional Teis Players Association (PTPA), a union he co-founded alongside Canadian player Vasek Pospisil.
Issue with Transparency and Governance Djokovic cited concerns over "transparency and governance" within the PTPA as the reason for his departure. The organization, formed in 2019, had recently filed a lawsuit against the ATP and WTA, accusing them of monopolistic behavior and neglecting player health.
Djokovic's Social Media Aouncement Taking to social media, Djokovic shared his decision, stating, "After careful consideration, I have decided to step away completely from the Professional Teis Players Association." He expressed that his values and approach no longer aligned with the direction of the PTPA.
