Women on Ventilator Support after Delivery Complications at Kota Hospital
In a tragic turn of events, two women at Kota's New Medical College and Hospital have been placed on ventilator support following kidney-related issues after recent deliveries. This development follows the deaths of two other women earlier this week, amidst a total of six cases of serious complications post-delivery at the hospital.
Private Hospital Transfer and Concerns District Collector Peeyush Samariya visited the private hospital where the women are currently receiving care on Friday night to inquire about their condition. One of the women, a 20-year-old five months pregnant, was initially admitted to Kota's government medical facility for a procedure recommended by doctors.
Azaz Khan, a relative of the pregnant woman, shared, "On the morning of May 7, she complained of anxiety and chest pain, and she started bleeding… Her condition worsened, so we took her to the hospital, where she was admitted. By evening, her urine stopped, and the body started swelling up."
Doctors at the government hospital identified an infection and advised moving the patient to a private hospital for specialized care. Azaz expressed concerns about the communication and decision-making process, stating that they felt the need to conceal the seriousness of the situation.
