The long-standing impasse in Indian football has finally been resolved with the Sports Ministry, All-India Football Federation, and representatives from 14 ISL clubs convening in New Delhi to chart the course forward.
The highly-anticipated Indian Super League is all set to commence on the 14th of February, adopting a single leg home and away format that promises to bring an exciting twist to the competition.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya expressed relief over the resolution, stating, “Due to a court dispute, there was significant uncertainty surrounding the Indian Super League. However, today, the government, AIFF, and club representatives from all 14 teams have unanimously decided to kickstart the league once again.”
Representatives from iconic clubs such as Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Mohammaden FC, Inter Kashi FC, Mumbai City FC, Cheaiyin FC, SC Delhi, Bengaluru FC, NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, Odisha FC, Kerala Blasters, and FC Goa were present at the crucial meeting.
