India Calls Out China for Support to Pakistan During Military Conflict
India has raised concerns over China's support to Pakistan during a recent military conflict between India and its neighboring country. The Indian government emphasized that "responsible nations must reflect" on the consequences of aiding efforts to protect terrorist infrastructure.
The comments from India come in response to Chinese media reports confirming that China provided on-site technical support to Pakistan during a four-day military conflict with India, known as Operation Sindoor.
Speaking at a media briefing, the Ministry of External Affairs' official spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated, "Operation Sindoor was a precise, targeted, and calibrated response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, aimed at destroying state-sponsored terrorist infrastructure operating out of Pakistan."
Jaiswal further added, "It is for nations who consider themselves responsible to reflect on whether supporting attempts to protect terrorist infrastructure affects their reputation and standing."
Recently, China's state broadcaster CCTV aired an interview with Zhang Heng, an engineer from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China's Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute, which develops advanced fighter aircraft and unmaed aerial vehicles for China. Zhang had provided technical support to Pakistan during the conflict last May.
According to reports, Pakistan's air force operates a fleet of China-made J-10CE jets, produced by a subsidiary of AVIC, the company Zhang is associated with.
As tensions continue to simmer in the region, India's stance on China's support to Pakistan has added another dimension to the complex geopolitical dynamics in South Asia.
