Tragedy Strikes as Truck Collides with Motorcycles, Leaving Five Dead in Odisha
Reports emerged of a tragic incident on Saturday as a truck collided with multiple motorcycles on National Highway-16, near Haladiapadar in Odisha’s Ganjam district, resulting in the loss of at least five lives and leaving several others injured. The heavy vehicle, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, crashed into three motorcycles, ultimately leading to the death of five individuals at the scene. The injured were promptly transported to the nearby MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where they are currently in critical condition.
Probe Initiated as Officials Rush to Scene Senior officials wasted no time in rushing to the site of the incident, with a formal probe being ordered to determine the root cause of the tragedy. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the driver responsible for the collision will be taken into custody imminently.
CM Majhi Expresses Condolences and Assures Support Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conveyed his condolences over the unfortunate incident and directed authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical treatment to the injured. In a gesture of support, CM Majhi aounced an ex gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
