Farhan Akhtar exits Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker's Lalkaara, Sidhant Gupta steps in as replacement

Farhan Akhtar's departure from the much-anticipated film "Lalkaara" has stirred up a major casting change in Bollywood. The talented actor has opted out of the sports drama due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming Neeraj Pandey project on the life of RD Burman. Sidhant Gupta, known for his work in shows like "Inside Edge" and "Jubilee," has been roped in to fill Farhan's shoes.

Farhan's decision to prioritize the RD Burman biopic has led him to step away from the sports drama, as he needs to immerse himself in preparing for the iconic role of the legendary music composer. Despite his exit as an actor, Farhan remains coected to the film as a producer, alongside Ritesh Sidhwani under their Excel Entertainment baer in collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani Films.

"Lalkaara" is described as an ambitious sports saga centered around the historic 1952 India-Pakistan Test series. Aamir Khan will portray cricketing legend Lala Amarnath, India's first cricket captain post-independence. With themes of friendship, intense rivalry, and national pride, the film marks the much-awaited reunion of Aamir and Ashutosh Gowariker following their iconic collaboration on "Lagaan" in 2001.
