Indian Railways Introduces Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express
The highly anticipated launch of the Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express by Indian Railways is set to revolutionize travel between the two picturesque cities. The extended service, previously operational between Katra and Srinagar, was inaugurated by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw with great fanfare.
Train Details and Route The Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, with train numbers 26401 and 26402, promises a swift and comfortable journey covering a distance of approximately 270 km in just 4 hours and 50 minutes. The train will make scheduled stops at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK), Riasi, and Banihal.
Coach Composition and Schedule Comprising a 20-coach formation with both AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car accommodations, the train will operate daily except for specific days. Train number 26401 will run every day except Tuesday, while train number 26402 will not operate on Wednesdays.
Timings and Frequency The first service (Train No 26401) will depart Jammu Tawi at 6:20 AM, reaching Srinagar at 11:10 AM. On the return journey, train number 26402 will depart Srinagar at 2:00 PM, arriving at Jammu Tawi by 6:50 PM. The second service (Train No 26404) will leave Srinagar at 8:00 AM, reaching Jammu Tawi by 12:40 PM, with the return journey of Train No 26403 departing Jammu Tawi at 1:20 PM and arriving in Srinagar at 6:00 PM.
