Security Forces Intensify Vigilance Ahead of Navratras in Jammu Province

Reports of suspected terrorist movement have prompted security forces to launch searches across various districts in Jammu province. In preparation for the upcoming Navratras, authorities have heightened security around the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu's Reasi district.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sarah Rizvi, conducted a thorough review of security arrangements at the shrine and along the routes from Katra, the base camp for pilgrims. With the footfall at the shrine expected to surge during the Navratras, random vehicle checkpoints and round-the-clock patrolling by J&K Police and CRPF have been put in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful pilgrimage.

Rizvi emphasized the importance of enhanced foot patrols, deployment at strategic locations, activation of village defense guards, and continuous area domination exercises. Special attention is being given to crowd management to prevent any untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, security forces are conducting searches in various areas of Jammu province following reports of suspected terrorist movement. In Rajouri, a search operation was launched near Palma after locals reported suspicious individuals moving towards nearby forests. Similar operations are underway in Doda and Poonch districts.

General Officer Commanding of the Rising Star Corps, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat, reviewed the operational preparedness of troops in Kathua's Machhedi sector. This area has witnessed several terror-related incidents in recent years and is a known infiltration route used by terrorists crossing the international border.

The Army's proactive measures in deploying troops in high-altitude areas have been commended for their readiness and commitment to mission success under all conditions.

General Officer Commanding of the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, visited forward areas in Akhnoor to review operational readiness along the Line of Control. Troops have been briefed on measures to enhance defenses and operational effectiveness, with a focus on professionalism and commitment to duty.
