Unforeseen Gas Leak Incident According to Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) Deputy General Manager, J Mallikarjun, the workers were carrying out their duties in the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) area when they suddenly detected the gas leak. Shortly after inhaling the fumes, the workers collapsed, requiring immediate medical attention.
Prompt Medical Response The unconscious workers were quickly provided with first-aid on-site before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, they were discharged later in the day after doctors confirmed that they were no longer in danger.
Concerns Over Blast Furnace Gas The leaked gas, suspected to be Blast Furnace (BF) gas, was identified as containing carbon monoxide, posing a serious threat upon exposure.
