The incident occurred off the final delivery of the 41st over when Easwaran, assuming the over was complete, started walking off the field after a misunderstanding with his opening partner, Chatterjee. However, the ball had brushed the bowler's fingers and rolled back to the stumps, resulting in Easwaran's dismissal after a formal appeal by Services.

Reflecting on his mistake, Easwaran expressed regret for falling short of his 28th First-Class hundred and admitted that the error took him by surprise. Despite the setback, Easwaran remains focused on his goal of making it to the international stage after being in and around the Test side since 2022.
