Bajrang Dal Supporters Cause Chaos in Dehradun, FIR Filed

An FIR has been lodged in Dehradun following a massive demonstration by Bajrang Dal supporters that resulted in blocked roads, coerced commuters, and public nuisance. This incident comes shortly after the group allegedly vandalized a shoe store by writing derogatory terms on employees' nameplates.

On Sunday, a group of unidentified individuals gathered at the Ranger Ground area without permission and proceeded to Darshan Lal Chowk, where they disrupted traffic flow and coerced people to join their protest against "land jihad." The situation escalated when a woman on a scooter was forcibly stopped and pressured to participate in the demonstration.

The protest led by Bajrang Dal leaders caused severe disruptions in the Darshan Lal and Clock Tower areas, with roads completely blocked for hours. The police had to divert traffic to alternate routes to maintain order, but the protesters became more aggressive, vowing to block the Clock Tower as well.

The police have collected evidence, including photographs and videos, to identify the individuals involved in the disruptive protest. The Station House Officer of Kotwali Dehradun police station, Hari Om Chauhan, revealed that the demonstrators were expressing dissatisfaction over a land encroachment case in Vikasnagar.

Meanwhile, the Bajrang Dal leader, Vikas Verma, had previously stirred controversy by harassing employees at a shoe store and labeling them with derogatory terms. Despite calls for action, the police are yet to receive a formal complaint from the affected employees.

The disruption caused by the Bajrang Dal supporters has sparked concerns among political parties, with the Congress raising questions about law and order in the state. Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni criticized the government for not taking immediate action against such incidents and urged Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to address the issue.

In light of these incidents, the police have assured that they will identify the individuals involved and take necessary action. The situation remains tense in Dehradun as authorities work to maintain order and address the concerns raised by the community.
