India's Military Sets Ambitious Goals for Technological Advancement by 2047

The Indian Armed Forces are embarking on a transformative journey to become a technologically advanced, integrated, and multi-domain force by the centenary of the country's Independence in 2047. According to officials familiar with the matter, the strategic roadmap includes the formulation of a National Military Strategy, modernization through the procurement of cutting-edge technologies and platforms, and a focus on indigenous technology development under the Atmanirbharta initiative.

The goals set by the Indian Armed Forces go beyond current measures, including the construction of underground infrastructure, bolstering air defense, and prioritizing procurement of modern weapons. The vision also includes strengthening deterrence capabilities, enhancing border and coastal surveillance, and formulating national strategies to address potential threats.
