Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Lead India in ODI and T20I Series Against South Africa

India's cricketing stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been named in the squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against South Africa, showcasing their stellar performances in the recent Australia series.

After the unfortunate injury to regular skipper Shubman Gill during the Kolkata Test last week, KL Rahul has been entrusted with the captaincy duties for the 50-over format. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will serve as his deputy for the series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been included in the squad, while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja makes his return to the 50-over team after missing out on the Australia series. Notably, pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the series, along with Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel.

The ODI series will kick off in Ranchi on November 30, followed by matches in Raipur on December 3 and Visakhapatnam on December 6. The T20I series will commence in Cuttack on December 9, with subsequent matches scheduled in New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.

Shubman Gill's neck injury sustained during the first Test in Kolkata has ruled him out of the series. Rishabh Pant is leading the team in Gill's absence, as the young captain continues his recovery under the supervision of the BCCI's medical team.
